SEOUL

Seoul, the capital of South Korea, with a population of over 10 million.

A leading and rising global city,

and home to many of the world's leading technology companies, such as Samsung.

There are also many historical and cultural landmarks.

We visited Gyeongbokgung Palace

The Gwanghwawun Royal Guards

Hyangwonjeong, a small two storey hexagonal pavilion within the grounds with a beautiful backdrop

with visitors wearing traditional costume (and using mobile phones).

Bukchon Hanok Village is like a village frozen in time,
although located right in the middle of the modernised metropolitan city.

A tour around a privately owned tradional Korean wooden home

with tea to finish.

We stumble across the local Methodist Church and are given a personal tour around.

We had to go to Gangnam!

"Gangnam Style" refers to a lifestyle associated with the Gangnam District of Seoul, where people are trendy, hip and exude a certain supposed "class".  Not sure we really fit in.

The view from our hotel room of the Han River.

We leave Martin here and head to China; we're on our own now!
